Motorola has announced the Moto W7 Active Edition, a slider phone for fitness enthusias
ts that senses movements, orientation and hand gestures. The 3G WCDMA device is perfect for users who live an active lifestyle.
The W7's accelerometer will detect subtle gestures that enable users to control the device with ease. They can flip the phone to silence an incoming call, snooze the alarm or pause music. They are able to shake the W7 twice to launch a favorite application, or flick it to skip songs and images.
In addition to gesture controls, a step pedometer will work great with an included personal training application that helps users set goals, complete workouts, and keep track of fitness progress.
The W7 supports Bluetooth A2DP, enabling users to use wireless stereo headsets while working out. W7 users can choose between an integrated MP3 player or the device's FM radio. Users can also bring their on music, as the W7 supports microSD cards.
The Motorola W7 Active Edition will be available in the second quarter in Asia and Latin America, in licorice and alpine white color schemes. Pricing and exact availability were not announced.
