Ericsson announced the official marketing name for the Idou prototype smartphone that it was showing off at this year's Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Dubbed the Satio, the new cameraphone will sport features like a 12.1 megapixel camera with a readl Xenon flash, as well as a large 3.5-inch widescreen touch sensitive display.

The Satio is the first Sony Ericsson smartphone to run the new Symbian Foundation operating system, which is based very heavily on Nokia's S60 5th Edition platform. It features a unique home screen user interface and provides fast access to the user's most loved media files, be they photos, videos, or music. The Satio also features integration with social networking sites.
Sony Ericsson's PlayNow system will allow Satio owners to customize their handsets with games, movies, and music. The Satio is expected to be available in select markets in early Q4 of 2009, and will be available in three colors: black, silver, and bordeaux.
