Sony Ericsson introduces Yari slider phone for gamers

At an event in London, Sony Ericsson unveiled its latest gaming phone, the Yari. This slider features a built-in accelerometer for motion-controlled gaming, allowing you to move the actual phone around to interact with games. The Yari also sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera, to make sure you still know how to stand still and smile from time to time.

The Sony Ericsson Yari only weighs 115g (4.1oz) and measures in at 100mm x 48mm x 15.7mm (3.9in x 1.9in x .6in), so it should be easy to carry around in your pocket. This phone is well connected, with quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support and either tri-band UMTS (850/1900/2100MHz) or dual-band UMTS (900/2100MHz), with HSPA for high-speed data connections. The phone is also equipped with A-GPS, for location based services and the ability to automatically geo-tag your photos with location information.

The Sony Ericsson Yari is expected to be available in Q4 2009, though pricing details were not given. Expect to see the Yari in your choice of Achromatic Black or Cranberry White.
