Verizon quietly launches Samsung SCH-u750 Alias 2 with changing e-ink keyboard

Verizon Wireless has quietly made available the Samsung SCH-u750 Alias 2, a dual flip phone with an innovative e-ink keyboard that changes based on whether a user is making p
hone calls or sending text messages. When the device is flipped up the e-ink display will show a standard keypad for dialing phone numbers. When it is flipped sideways, it reveals a QWERTY keyboard for typing messages.

The Alias 2 features a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT (240x320 pixels) display, a 2 megapixel camera and camcorder with night-shooting capability. The device also supports Bluetooth compatibility.

The new Samsung device has a music player with support for a wide range of standard music files and access to a microSD card slot for expanded memory. Below an external display, the device also has dedicated music controls for skipping and pausing tracks. The Alias 2 also features many of Verizon's mobile applications including V CAST Music with Rhapsody, V CAST Video, Mobile Web and Wireless Sync.

The Samsung SCH-u750 Alias 2 is available online and in retail locations for $79.99 with a two-year customer agreement and a mail-in rebate.
