CNet is reporting that chip maker ARM will deliver mobile processors next year that use more than one processor core, much like PC hardware that is increasingly common.
In a phone interview with CNet, ARM Wireless Segment Manager James Bruce told the publication that mobile phones will begin shipping with dual-core Cortex-A9 processors, the company's next generation chipsets, in 2010.
Bruce says the dual-core processors provide better performance but still use less power in day-to-day use than variations of the company's current A8 model, one of which is used in the Palm Pre
